For many years now The 19th Indiana Company A has been and
continues to be a Civil War reenactment group that participates
in a multiple of events dedicated to keeping history alive.
Through out the year the 19th Indiana will be at battle
reenactments, living history and school Civil War programs.  The
members of the 19th Indiana have a vast knowledge of the
history of the 19th as well as Civil War history.

The 19th Indiana travels through out the midwest area most of
the year and occasionally will be seen at historic battlefield
places outside of the midwest like Antietam and Gettysburg.

At battle reenactments, the 19th may be portraying or acting
together with other units to demonstrate or reenact historic
battles while living the daily life of a common Civil War soldier in
camp. The public can visit the 19th in camp, ask questions and
get a chance to see the daily life up close.  Everyone is always
welcome to visit us.

For living history events, the 19th may simulate daily camp life,
school of the soldier drills and firing squads.  Living history
events are a great way for the public to get an even closer look at
soldier living while being able to talk and ask questions to
members of the 19th.  Again, we encourage the public to stop in
and feel free to ask questions.

For school Civil War programs, the 19th will usually conduct
living history type situations where camp life, school of the
soldier and drill are presented.  This is an excellent chance for
students to learn about the Civil War and what it was like to be a
soldier during that period.  If you would be interested in having
the 19th Indiana come to your school please contact our
